The common thread in my life, social contact, runs through everything I do. This is also true for festivals. I can go to all festivals, listen to all music genres. As long as there is a sense of community, I can handle anything. A festival is a world unto itself where anything goes and anything is possible. There are no obligations; it is a fraction of complete freedom. Doing your own thing and being completely yourself. It’s wonderful to share that ‘go with the flow’ feeling with your friends every year, although I must admit that sometimes there are gaps in my memories.

Each festival has its own atmosphere and audience. Tomorrowland is big and beautiful, but it quickly becomes too crowded for me. I might prefer Graspop, where the people are so friendly. The diversity of the festivals I visit ensures that I constantly gain new experiences and meet new people. It enriches my social life and is a source of unforgettable memories.

You experience all sorts of things at a festival. For example, I will never forget the storm at Pukkelpop. No one could be reached. At the moment itself, you had no idea what was going on. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. Those unexpected moments, both the beautiful and the challenging ones, are part of the magic of festivals. They create stories that stay with you forever and that you can share with your friends time and time again.

One of the best aspects of festivals is being together at the campsite. Sitting around the tents, reminiscing old stories, and creating new memories. The campfire crackling while you laugh with your friends and enjoy the simplicity of the moment. The feeling of connectedness and sharing those special moments completes the festival experience. It’s those small, intimate moments that you cherish and that make you look forward to the next festival.
