Photography: Hobby or Professional?
I certainly enjoy taking photos. I try to share them with you through my blog posts and photo albums. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I find great joy in capturing moments and scenes that tell a story.
In the past, I was involved in analog photography, where you had to develop the film and then transfer the images onto photo paper in a darkroom using baths and light. This process was quite intricate and required a lot of patience and precision. The thrill of seeing the final image emerge on the paper was truly magical.
Currently, I’m practicing underwater photography. I started with a “GoPro,” which was a great introduction to capturing underwater scenes. However, as I became more serious about this hobby, I upgraded to the “Sealife DC2000,” which offered better quality and more control over the images. After a few years of using the Canon G7X Mark II, I decided to switch to the OM TG-7 because I love macro photography. This camera allows me to capture the intricate details of small subjects, which is something I find fascinating.
I’m now learning how to use this more professional camera, which allows you to adjust settings underwater—something you can’t do with a GoPro. The OM TG-7 has opened up new possibilities for me, and I’m excited to explore its capabilities.
Taking photos underwater is challenging because the fish don’t stay still, and you have to be mindful of your buoyancy to respect the environment and avoid touching anything. It’s a delicate balance between capturing the perfect shot and preserving the natural habitat. The vibrant colors and unique creatures found underwater make it a rewarding experience.
I hope to share the results of my macro photography on my website soon. Stay tuned for updates, and feel free to leave your comments and feedback. Your input is valuable to me as I continue to learn and improve my skills.
